TRY IT OUT!

First — this is NOT "Country Line Dancing"! Rather it's a little like square dancing but done in a long double line. Sometimes lively, sometimes elegant, the dances and music range from mid-17th century to 2024!

To get a sense of what the dancing looks like, check out this video showing basic English Country Dancing moves.

Newcomers are always welcome. No partner needed — everyone dances with everyone! And all dances are taught and prompted.

You should be able to walk at a good pace, and to move in a circle without getting too dizzy. Dress in loose layers. Wear flat shoes that won't slip OR grip on a wood floor.

DONATION

$5-10 requested donation, paid at the door (cash, venmo, credit card). This goes to the Park Ave Community Center.

• Two blocks from the Swarthmore train station and 109 bus.
• Near the Blue Route (I-476). Take Exit 3 for Baltimore Pike.
• Street parking only. Meters are not costly — they mostly keep SEPTA commuters from parking all day. Free parking on the residential streets nearby.
• Food: If you want to have lunch beforehand or early dinner afterwards, a bakery, a coffee shop, the coöp (with deli), a long-time pizza shop, and several nice restaurants are just a block or two away.
